Nero, 54-68. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.54 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 64-65. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Nero to right. Rev. IVPPITER CVSTOS Jupiter seated left, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BMC 74. CBN 220. Cohen 119. RIC 53. A very attractive piece with a particularly ferocious portrait. Very minor roughness on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
